PROFILING DREAMS
As Beijing Review continues to look back on China’s 40 years of reform and opening up, in this issue we focus on the lives of ordinary people who managed to catapult themselves and ultimately the nation into a new era. Through these profiles, the reader can trace the progress and transformation that have taken place in China in the past four decades. The four have arrived at where they are thanks to China’s open and inclusive attitude, favorable environment for innovation and abundant opportunities. From their stories, we can get an understanding of the underlining themes of contemporary China.
